Tell Cargill to show us the plan.
Industrial agriculture currently rivals the energy sector as the number one cause of global warming. But we know that food production, if done differently, has the ability to capture carbon rather than releasing it. MN350’s Food Systems Team is asking Cargill, the world’s largest animal feed supplier and manufacturer, to embrace agricultural practices that regenerate the soil and transform our food system from a carbon source to a carbon sink. When Cargill recently promised a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across their supply chain, they also admitted that they didn’t know how they were going to achieve that goal.
We need more than empty promises to meet the urgency of the climate crisis. You can help by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper encouraging Cargill to #showusyourplan.
