There’s no better word to sum up 2020 than “unprecedented.” This election is no exception. This year, it’s going to take a little more time than usual to count up all the votes and verify winners up and down the ballot. And that’s okay! It’s how we know the system is working during this global pandemic.
Community leaders have put together a series of events to help us come together in support of democracy.
7-8 p.m.
The #VotersDecided Digital Rally will create a joyful online space that celebrates a historic election, where every vote was counted and the will of the people stand. It will elevate the voices of BIPOC organizers and movement leaders, and call the country to join in the Voters Decided National Day of Celebration on Saturday, November 7th.
Noon, Lake and Minnehaha, Minneapolis
Sponsored by CTUL, SEIU MN State Council, Awood Center, UnidosMN, Outfront, and others.
From the Facebook Event page:
March with us November 7th to help build a future where we decide what our democracy looks like. No matter the outcome of the election, no matter who claims to have won, we know that we must count every vote and continue fighting for the future of our communities. The March will start at the former Third Precinct at Lake and Minnehaha.
