Mohamud Noor for House District 60B

Mohamud Noor is a computer scientist who moved to Minnesota in 1999 and has been involved in activism and outreach ever since. His experience includes work as the executive director of the Confederation of Somali Communities and as director of the Minneapolis School Board. He has also served as a member of the Minnesota Governor’s Council of Black Minnesotans and as a union activist for the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees. Noor co-authored the bill striving to transition MN to 100% clean energy; other priorities include tuition costs, affordable housing, combating the opioid epidemic and immigrant rights.

 

Mohamud Noor on fossil fuel infrastructure and a just transistion to 100% clean energy:

“I oppose Line 3 and I stand with communities impacted. I will support legislation to build (a) clean energy economy. (I will) Establish funding to prepare and support low-income households, and communities of color and indigenous facing impacts of climate change.”
