Let's put our money where our mouths are

The future of food in Minnesota

As the headwaters of three major watersheds, Minnesota is positioned to be a leader in caring for the land that nourishes us all. But right now, our public dollars are funding an industrial food economy that destroys our communities, our ecosystems, and our legacy.

That’s why MN350 is building a movement behind the Headwaters Community Food and Water Bill (HF1332/SF1580), which will establish the funding and infrastructure we need for a regenerative, life-affirming food economy in which both urban and rural communities thrive as stewards of the land on which we all depend.

Join the movement

MN350 is committed to creating a regenerative, locally-adapted food system that delivers health and well-being to all members of every community, and provides an economic legacy capable of serving future generations. But we can’t do it while our public money is subsidizing the industrial food chain.

And we can’t do it alone. Together, we can turn our public resources toward a resilient, source-to-table food economy designed for sustainable living.

Help us put our money where our mouths are. Sign the pledge to be notified of Headwaters actions in your area.

Environmental champions

are already working hard to pass the Headwaters Community Food & Water Bill (HF1332/SF1580). Is your legislator one of them? Check our list, then call them to thank them for their support.

If your legislator is not on the list, give them a call to tell them: Stop putting our money into a food system designed to produce a profit, and start putting it into a food system designed to nourish ourselves, our communities, and our planet.

Capture your climate story

Imagine a food system that is community-focused and climate-resilient. A food system designed for nourishment, instead of profit. What might that actually look like? How would it be different? What would it mean for you and your community?

Do you have some ideas? Great! Now just pull out your phone and hit “record.” Use our Soapboxx tool to create a 60-second video telling the world why we need a climate-friendly food system.

We’ve provided a script to help you figure out what to say, and you can also watch what other members of MN350 are saying to get more ideas.

Our Community Leaders

Opting out of the industrial food chain takes courage and resourcefulness, and nobody knows that better than our coalition partners. We’re teaming up with the visionary leaders who are already creating the regenerative, inclusive, local food economy we need to meet the challenges of food equity and climate change. Together, we can call on legislators to provide reliable funding and infrastructure for their work, to reward the practices that help communities live sustainably, and to nurture the next generation of regenerative food leaders.
